This book is a transcription of the Civil War diary of Assistant Surgeon James A. Black from January 1, 1862 to December 31, 1865. Dr. Black lived for a time in Fillmore, Illinois and several entries reference Hillsboro and other local places.

All copies are autographed by the author!
